Celebrating 10 Years of Partnering & Collaboration

In April 2022, the EDP marked its 10-year anniversary as a collaborative intermediary organisation working to enable collaboration and change processes to address society’s most pressing development challenges. This milestone has provided a valuable opportunity to reflect and take stock of challenges and opportunities for change, the tools developed, and the lessons learned along the way on what it takes to collaborate effectively towards sustainable social and economic development.

Ten years in the making, the EDP Way of leading partnering processes for change was developed in response to the complex challenges facing our country. The EDP’s Partnering Framework combines theoretical and systems knowledge with practical tools and instructions grounded in experience. This methodology allows us to guide people and their organisations on journeys of change for the benefit of all society.

This exciting journey has been made possible through the generous support from the Western Cape Government, the City of Cape Town and other funders, and through their ongoing participation and leadership. We are grateful to all our funders for their continued support and commitment to creating change, together.

10 Lessons in 10 Years

Embracing continual learning and discovery as we grow, the EDP has accumulated many different partnering lessons from our experience over the years. By listening to our partners, codifying our methodologies, and practicing the ‘EDP way’, we’ve identified our top ten lessons – read about them here.

EDP10 Publication: 10 Years of Partnering and Collaboration in Action

To commemorate this anniversary, our EDP10 publication ‘10 Years of Partnering and Collaboration in Action’ outlines our journey of change over the past decade. It explores the challenges facing our country, some of the tools required to meet these, our top ten lessons learned over ten years as a collaborative intermediary, and highlights of how the EDP has worked with partners to respond to crises over the last decade. This publication was produced thanks to the support of the Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung.
