Notiswa Libala
Notiswa is a Project Lead at the EDP with a focus on partnering processes for water management, including stakeholder engagement. Her projects include Water, Energy and Food nexus, Water Resilience in the Western Cape Water Supply System, support to the City of Cape Town’s Climate Change Action Plan, and the Partnering Implementation Model for the Just Transition.
Notiswa has over seven years of experience in water resource management, with expertise in water governance, participatory governance, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), catchment management, stakeholder engagement, partnership development and sustainability, facilitation, coordinating research and workshops.
Notiswa has previously worked on a Water Research Commission-funded project mapping the interlinkages of SDG 6 (water and sanitation) with other SDGs, and as a researcher for the Africa Research Universities Alliance’s Water Centre of Excellence on a joint transdisciplinary collaborative project funded by the UK government that involved researchers from Ethiopia, Nigeria Rwanda, South Africa, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, and the United Kingdom. She holds a Doctorate in Water Resource Science (Rhodes University).
