Michelle du Toit

Michelle is the Energy and Climate Programme Lead at the Economic Development Partnership (EDP). She has a master’s degree in Environmental Humanities from the University of Cape Town and over nineteen years’ experience in the climate change and development space.

She has led the implementation of cross-regional climate change programmes that span mitigation, adaptation & resilience, capacity strengthening, youth leadership, climate change knowledge brokering and communication. These programmes have been implemented across Africa, Latin America and South Asia and have engaged a wide-range of stakeholders and partners including community-based NGOs, local and national government, academia, global climate change leaders and international donors.

Michelle is passionate about the need for locally-led climate action and the importance of Southern leadership in global fora.
