Azola is a Programme Lead for the EDP with a focus on local economic development, catalytic and industry sector support and sustainable urban energy development. Previously she was responsible for promoting urban development standards towards net zero carbon targets for the City of Johannesburg.
Azola is a urban and regional planner, registered with SACPLAN and a certified business analyst. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning with additional qualifications in sustainable business analysis, human settlements management and Net-Zero accreditation processes. She is currently completing a Master’s in Architecture: Sustainable and Energy Efficient Cities. Azola’s interest lies in building strategic partnerships and collaborating across sectors to accelerate the implementation of climate-related actions.
