Ashoek Adhikari

Chairman of the EDP Board Associate at Balrd’s CMC

Ashoek Adhikari is an associate at BaIrd’s CMC, an international consultancy group.  Prior to that he was the general counsel at Media24, a subsidiary of Naspers.

As an attorney, he first established his own practice in Cape Town, and then moved into the public sector, where he held various positions in the Provincial Administration of the Western Cape.  His last position there, before moving to Media24, was that of the chief operative officer in the Office of the Premier.

He remains active in the governance of the attorney’s profession. He chaired the Law Society of South Africa’s transformation committee and served on the Minister of Justice’s steering committee to draft the transformation charter for the attorney’s profession. He is currently the chairperson of the audit and compliance committee of the Attorneys Fidelity Fund.

He is also deputy chair of the Isandla Institute and serves on the board of Accelerate Cape Town.
